Sooner or later when learning Japanese you come across kanji. Unfortunately there are thousands of them and some of them are quite complicated. So far I've found two basic methods of finding kanji, the first is to search through an entire list one by one, the second, and slightly faster, method is to count the number of strokes, sometimes this is easy,
二 for instance has two strokes, and sometimes not so easy,
顔 has 18 strokes. You can enter the number of strokes you believe your kanji has as well as a small error term, because the number of strokes is not always so obvious, and receive a list of all kanji that contain that number of strokes.
You can also click on the kanji in the main dictionary to view an information page which includes stroke count.
Development note: The kanji list is automatically populated from the main dictionary and some of the information may be missing, please be patient while we update the kanji list.
